What are our expectations?
As part of the Plant 41 multidisciplinary team, the Manufacturing Generalist will be responsible for processing parts through the manufacturing line utilizing multi-skilling abilities in a 24-7 environment, 12-hour shift environment. Must be able to work all shift hours, including night shift. The operator will be expected to perform multiple tasks throughout the line. Must be fully aware of export control requirements and adhere to expectations. Please note that this position will require extensive training.

What your day to day will look like

  • Work within a highly specialized team to establish and achieve high expectations, goals and daily targets.
  • Maintain an engaged attitude.
  • General surface preparation and spray painting of industrial coatings to a specified application requirement for aerospace parts
  • Read and interpret blue prints
  • Complete and update paperwork and on-going training requirements, including documents on a computer
  • Use specialized equipment, related software & systems and manual such as; automated paint delivery system, booths, ovens, masking fixtures & tapes.
  • Mix paint, set up and trouble shoot automated paint delivery system.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement by using tools such as Kaizen events and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) tools.
  • Make the best use of time and resources to complete work.
  • Keep current with job requirements, products, computer technology (e.g. MS Office products), and company policies.
  • Actively participate in the development of processes and standard work documents that will create a productive, self-sustaining cell that operates at the ACE Gold level.
  • Be actively involved in maintaining training documentation (OJT’s, Standard Work) and leading area training as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks (TPM walk arounds) and assist maintenance with PM activities.
  • Work with the various Plant 41 support areas to ensure cell success and compliance
  • Support EH&S initiatives and actively participate in incident investigations, tier 1 audits and WAA
  • Participate in training as assigned and adhere to all company policies.

The tools you need to be successful

  • Successfully completed Grade 12 or GED
  • Technical Diploma in an Autobody/Collision Repair painting program or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered an asset and may provide an advantage to the applicant.
  • At least 1-3 years Manufacturing/Autobody painting experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous manufacturing experience in an aerospace environment or in an automated manufacturing environment will be considered an asset and may provide an advantage to the applicant.
