Your responsibilities:

  • You will perform research and development for next generation technology in power electronics, such as topology analysis, modeling and control, and power electronics application in the power system.

  • You will collaborate and support all business units and ensure successful execution of research projects.

  • You will perform research in the field of power electronics technologies and their application in the power system.

  • You will be part of the Hitachi Energy Research team to develop cutting edge power electronics and power system technologies.

Your background:

  • You hold PhD or master's degree majored in Power Electronics.

  • More than 3 years of research experience.

  • Solid theoretical background with publications in renowned transactions / journals.

  • Strong competence in one or more of the following areas: power electronics topology analysis; converter modelling and control; power electronics application in HVDC, MVDC, FACTS, micro grid, renewable energy integration, energy storage, EV charging infrastructure, etc.

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is a strong plus: power electronics hardware design; thermal management of converter system; high frequency magnetic design; PCB layout design; power device characterization; gate driver circuit development for high power semiconductors; EMC testing and certification for power electronics converters.

  • Proficient in computation and simulation software tools, e.g. Matlab, Simulink, PSCAD, PLECS, Ansys, etc.

  • Excellent innovation capability and competence of application-oriented research.

  • Self-motivated, high curiosity and ability to learn new technologies.

  • Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Be able to travel abroad, including short-term job rotation as required.

  • Fluent English in both speaking and writing.
