Minimum qualifications:
  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of attorney-level experience in in-house or at a law firm with litigation.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluently to engage with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in a large global company environment or working closely with a large global company.
  • Experience working in technology.
  • Experience working with multiple jurisdictions, including outside of primary legal education.
  • Knowledge of privacy, consumer protection, antitrust, contract, content moderation/safety, or IP law issues in a technology context.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.

The Spanish Speaking Legal (SpLA) team provides expert and legal counsel to Google across Latin America, ensuring our products and operations seamlessly integrate with local laws and regulations. Responsibilities
  • Support litigation cases in Spanish-speaking Latin American countries, working closely with lead counsel and outside counsel to execute litigation strategy.
  • Assist in advising management, business clients, and legal teams on various legal matters, with a focus on potential risks and implications of contentious issues.
  • Contribute to all phases of contentious matters, including pre-litigation analysis, litigation support, and ensuring compliance with court rulings.
  • Develop an understanding of Google products and build effective relationships with business clients and legal colleagues across our global offices.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis, and prepare legal memoranda and other documents to support the litigation team.
