About the job

As a member of a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team, you use your creativity and diverse range of engineering experience to explore solutions to a variety of engineering problems. As a mechanical engineer, you participate in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts. You work in a manufacturing and product oriented development environment and collaborate with vendors and outside sources in order to see parts through to manufacture.

The Pixel Watch Structural and Thermal Simulation team provides product design guidance for upcoming Watches based on Finite Element and CFD models. The team also focuses on improving and validating models through material, component, and system-level testing.

Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Responsibilities
  • Influence product direction through cross-functional negotiations and teamwork based on thermal design, simulation (CFD), and validation.
  • Create test plans to validate design and correlate test results to simulation data, and improve predictability of simulation models.
  • Interpret and summarize thermal data, highlight risks, and provide recommendations to program teams and upper management.
  • Guide cross-functional team members in hardware and software to provide feedback on product thermal performance, thermal throttling strategy, and appropriate design changes for various conditions and limitations.
  • Work with certification agencies on meeting requirements and mitigating concerns.
