Senior Sales Operations Analyst (Reporting)

Introduction to team

The Traveler Business Team has a mission to deliver the most convenient, rewarding, and memorable ways for people to travel and explore the world. This division has responsibility to build and drive the growth of our global consumer business across our Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, and Portfolio brands, and across all our lines of businesses including Hotels, Vacation Rentals, Air, Car, Packages, and Insurtech.

Drilling down into the Traveler Business Team, the Senior Sales Operations Analyst role is part of the Lodging Sales Operations team within Commercial Operations Analytics. Lodging Sales Operations is responsible for several key components of the operationalization of the quarterly variable incentive plans for the lodging account management and sales teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain a set of dashboards surfacing relevant information for Account Managers to prepare for conversations with external partners and for Leaders to coach their teams

  • Efficiently research, analyze and resolve data inquiries from account managers and leaders through Slack or email while maintaining ownership of the issue at hand

  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues and optimize queries. Ensure data integrity, security and compliance.

  • Identify and call out process and knowledge gaps that could help improve account management at EG

  • Work with Sales Enablement on creating and keeping up to date content in Seismic

  • Partner closely with Analytics and Data Engineering to escalate as appropriate to resolve complex complaints and/or issues, ensure sharing best practices. Successful collaboration within your team would also be key

  • Continuously look for optimization opportunities in your scope and in related processes to identify, propose and implement improvements and further automation

  • Be fully responsible for the timely and accurate execution of your tasks and processes, tackle unique challenges and problems with limited support

Experience and qualifications:

  • You have intermediate skills in SQL (Querybook, MS SQL etc.) - with advanced Excel skills (functions) being a plus

  • Ability to maintain / build reports in Tableau

  • Experience in complex investigations and problem-solving across several data datasets and platforms

  • Self-standing and independent, motivated by challenges to overcome

  • Logical, analytical, thorough with a clear attention to detail, always making sure your objectives are delivered to a very high standard - even under stress and with tight delivery dates

  • Able to see the bigger picture whilst not missing the details

  • Can easily connect with colleagues in a large organization to find answers and resolve problems, across geographies and time zones and in a matrixed environment

  • Enjoy frequently communicating with (both in written form and orally) and helping colleagues - potentially with experience in an operations environment

  • Able to see and appreciate the upsides of a role that is centered around continuous problem-solving and improvements
