Learning Experience Specialist

Introduction to team

Travel Partnerships and Media helps partners deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences, driving growth for them and the EG marketplace through competitive supply, a valued advertising and travel media network, and affiliate solutions.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Expedia Cruises division within Expedia Group in the role of Learning Experience Specialist.

You will be responsible for conducting needs analysis, designing and at times facilitating and executing learning for our Franchisees, Managers and Vacation Consultants. You will work with internal stakeholders to create/deliver engaging, informative, and effective training. This includes designing e-learning, micro learning, Instructor Lead Training, job aids and other learning content.

You will work in the learning team alongside a team of learning specialists and learning experience designers who collaborate to design and deliver training that supports the needs of our Franchise Organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Assess training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups and communication with stakeholders, Franchisees, Managers and Vacation Consultants
  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate course content; ensure content is current, relevant, and applicable to the unique needs of our learners.
  • Create engaging e-learning resources, training, instructional templates, and documentation.
  • Identify, benchmark and monitor learning initiatives performance.
  • Ensure all training materials are clear, concise, consistent, and instructionally sound.
  • Provide ongoing learning and development services to meet changing needs of the Expedia Cruises business and the travel industry.
  • Provide LMS (adobe learning manager) support in relation to course content and creation.
  • Previous experience on project management

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Curriculum Development, Human Resources and/or post-secondary Certificate in a related discipline (i.e., Instructional Design, Adult Education, eLearning Development)
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an internal or external Learning Advisor, Curriculum Developer, or Instructional Designer, including the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of adult learning programs
  • Proven ability to deliver and facilitate learning.
  • Experience collaboratively working with internal departments, external stakeholders, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify training needs and develop resources.
  • Solid knowledge of instructional design frameworks (e.g., ADDIE) and training evaluation methods to measure and report on learning outcomes.
  • Knowledge of adult learning and e- learning design principles including accessibility guidelines
  • Experience using learning management systems (LMS) to develop and deliver training content.
  • Applied knowledge of Articulate Storyline and Rise and video editing software; adept at acquiring proficiency on new platforms and applications.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of the travel industry (desirable)

The total cash range for this position in Vancouver is $64,000.00 to $89,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $102,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
