Job Description

As a Team Leader you will:

  • monitor and evaluate team members and adjust training accordingly
  • Act as a positive Role Model and Change Agent
  • Act as liaison, representing the Application Service within the Organisation
  • Assist as needed with maintenance of all hours, overtime and vacation records and schedules.
  • Reinforce and encourage the Avery Dennison Core Values and ethics. 
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert on garment decoration and the machines used.

Key responsibilities:

  • Checking Job Orders and ensuring the right garments, transfers and artwork are all correct 
  • Passing Job Orders to the Application Team for execution
  • Managing Garments - inbound and outbound accountability
  • Maintain quality control processes to ensure that products/services meet quality standards; Lead the implementation of process improvements.
  • Translate the objectives into the team's priorities and respond to production needs.
  • Assist Operations Manager with production flow, staff schedule, and budget and plan resources.
  • Be sure to follow best practices and standard operating procedures by conducting frequent business audits.
  • Provide leadership for team-based continuous improvement projects.
  • Make efforts to reduce manufacturing waste and process complexity.
  • Work closely with Commercial and Production departments to schedule work and staff patterns
  • Set and follow Maintenance regime for all machines
  • Ensure all staff work within EHS guidelines set out by the Site Lead and Operations Manager

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in both people leadership and the garment decoration industry is desirable
  • You will need to be highly organised to be able to adjust workload according to customer or business priority
  • As a global company Avery Dennison may provide training outside of the UK so a passport and ability to travel is essential. 
  • Familiarity with ELS Operation Principles
  • High level of attention to detail to follow work orders to the millimetre
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of how to read and interpret artwork files
  • Good working knowledge of spreadsheets, creating and following reporting details
