Product Security Engineering (PSE) is responsible for ensuring that every Google Cloud product ships as secure as it can be. We do so by increasing the assurance levels of security in the infrastructure underlying all our products, increasing the capabilities of each product team to develop more secure products by design and by default. We work with almost every aspect of Google’s infrastructure and on solving truly planet scale infrastructure security problems that have societal level impacts.

The PSE Tools Engineering Team provides the tools, platform, infrastructure, and guidance necessary for use by PSE teams.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Build and nurture high performing teams working in a complex, changing and cutting-edge problem area.
  • Collaborate deeply with stakeholders and partner teams, represent security in long-running partnerships to help Cloud product teams ship new features or platforms securely.
  • Guide the team to secure all aspects of the software engineering life cycle, including compile-time, run-time, code-review-time, code-scanning-time and other checks.
  • Lead the team to break down existing and emerging classes of vulnerabilities and risks into tangible projects. Ensure execution of project roadmaps, including design and implementation, within the team and in collaboration with partner engineering teams.
  • Demonstrate excellent technical judgment to balance competing priorities between depth of security work, business needs, and speed of execution.
