    Position Overview:

The Freddie Mac Platform and Infrastructure (P&I) services division is seeking a Senior Engineering Technical Lead to provide chief development lead services for Platform Delivery organization.  

    This Senior Technical Lead will be an active part of technical leadership team providing services within the Platform Delivery team comprising of seasoned engineering leads and senior engineering resources focused on Infrastructure automation and delivery. You will be engaged with teams delivering next generation innovation in alignment with agile and Modern Delivery methodologies within Freddie Mac with focus on AWS Core services, Security, Cloud migration and evolution of highly available cloud operating environments supporting end user and business critical application workloads.

    • Evaluate and on-board new products/tools/services to enhance cloud native platform capabilities

    • Partner with architecture and application teams to design and solution platform features to host cloud native applications

    • Collaborate with Product and Business team members to ensure high quality product is developed and released into production

    Your Impact:
    • Individual responsible for design, build and delivery of all engineered solutions across all Goldfield (AWS cloud) product teams

    • Own 1 Year delivery technical roadmap for platform delivery team based on Goldfield backlog. Stay one PI ahead on design for all technical capabilities planned

    • Partner with Principal Engineering and other engineering teams to solidify the integration points and contracts

    • Assist development leads in defining high level solution design to ensure alignment in visions, goals and objectives

    • Build Reference Application/Implementation for reusability and accelerated adoption of new design standards/patterns

    • Identify solution alternatives and/or new technologies to meet new business needs or solve existing business concerns, such as customer experience, operational efficiency, performance and cost effectiveness

    • Work to resolve implementation issues from business or technical requirements, design, code, testing, to technology/platform

    • Participate in pre-deployment, deployment and post-deployment activities to ensure successful deployment

    • Participate in incident resolution process to help troubleshooting, identify issue resolution and impact assessments

    Qualifications:
    • 10+ years of overall information technology experience with an emphasis on integration and delivery of virtual/cloud platforms to enterprise applications, recent public cloud experience preferred.

    • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, related field or equivalent experience. Advanced studies/degree is preferred.

    • 3+ years of proven experience with AWS core services, network, security, cloud formation, Terraform, or similar tools.

    • 3+ years of experience with engineering and supporting containerization technology (OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS(ECS/EKS) etc.) at scale.

    • Experience with Python, Ansible and shell scripting to automate routine operation tasks.

    • Ability to provide 24x7 operational support on periodic basis and triage complex issues to restore availability.

    • Documentation of Engineering Solutions and Designs.

    • Technical and Architectural leadership with knowledge of both legacy and modern cloud-based infrastructure (networking technologies and distributed systems).

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to succinctly present complex subject matter, specifically translating technology problems/solutions to business

    This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $161,000 - $241,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
