We have an exciting remote opportunity for a EH&S Site Support Lead! This role requires approximately 50% travel to multiple site locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The EH&S Site Support Lead is a member of the EH&S leadership team, serving as the supervisor of the Region Leader Team.  Region Leaders are the key point of contact between the PW Central EH&S Department and each site within region.
  • The EH&S Site Support Lead is responsible for organizing, motivating and supervising Region Leaders who drive the EH&S culture and provide superior customer support for all sites within a region.
  • The EH&S Site Support Lead is responsible for improvement targets and EH&S strategic direction to Site General Managers, site EH&S Managers and site EH&S Councils.
  • The EH&S Site Support Lead provides strategic direction and influence, leadership, and technical support to advance EH&S programs, and provide oversight to help ensure all facilities are in compliance with local, state, in-country, and UTC/PW EH&S requirements.

Assist site with implementation of the UTC EH&S management system. including, but not limited to:

  • Data Management and Reporting; and
  • Annual Planning;

Training:

  • EH&S Region Leader leads the EH&S onboarding of new or transferred GMs and EH&S Professionals

Incident Investigation:

  • Facilitate regulatory compliance, serious incidents, recordable and loss time investigations
  • Validation of root cause and mistake proofing level

Communications:

  • Establish routine communications with site EH&S managers
  • Solicit and share best practices across the region and company
  • Provide regular updates and communications with P&W EH&S leadership and staff

Staffing and Employee Development:

  • Assist in the Hiring and development of EH&S staff
  • Support career development plans and performance reviews

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety or related technical discipline with 12+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; OR an Advanced degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety or related technical discipline with 10+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years as Site EH&S Manager, directly supervising EH&S or other professionals
  • Prior experience as an EH&S Region Leader or similar role with oversight for multiple manufacturing or service locations.
  • Highly motivated individual
  • Strategic leadership ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence all levels of management to achieve desired results
  • Change agent who anticipates potential issues and impact on the business, and proactively resolve with minimal supervision 
  • Continuous Improvement experience e.g. CORE, Six Sigma, LEAN etc. strongly desired

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
