We are hiring a Director of Culture and Communications who will be responsible for developing and executing internal and executive communications and employee engagement strategies to inform, inspire and motivate our workforce. If you have excellent writing, creative and analytical skills you might be a good fit for this position. It’s also the best seat in the house if you care about culture, because this position drives that function.
You’ll be joining an HR department that is structured to ensure everyone has development opportunities that support individuals keen on evolving their skills and their careers. You’ll also have a seat on the HR Leadership Team.

Responsibilities
- Develop key messages, all-employee communications, executive communications, digital content and internal storytelling content.
- Produce high-quality written content that is edgy, crisp and appropriate for the intended audience.
- Organize, project manage and execute on the production of company-wide internal communications.
- Conceptualize and execute content creation from start to finish.
- Put content through its respective approval processes and ensure it is returned in a timely manner.
- Work with a number of internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of our brands, products, industry and company history.
- Work closely with our senior leadership team to provide strategic communications aligned with our business priorities.
- Provide weekly reporting and analytics to better understand our impact.
- Take a leadership role in community partnerships and giving initiatives, including our employee volunteering programs.
- Manage the Employee Wellness initiatives that cover physical, mental, emotional and financial health.
- Actively participate in developing, supporting and executing each and every culture initiative from concept to execution. This includes a heavy emphasis on inclusion, diversity, reward and recognition among others.
Qualifications
- This goes without saying - you must possess exceptional all-around communication skills. This means you write well, and it comes easily to you, so that you can quickly and efficiently produce written materials. It also means when you speak, you’re able to clearly and concisely articulate both simple and complex ideas and circumstances. You also have experience crafting and producing non-written forms of communication such as graphic design and video.
- You are a team player: collaboration with others includes timely, accurate sharing of information and resources, even when it means rearranging your own priorities.
- Numbers don’t scare you: you look at data to ask questions that help tell the story behind the digits.
- You understand basic business concepts, including top and bottom-line results.
- You have the ability to research and understand complex ideas and issues and write about them intelligently and accurately for different audiences.
- Ability to ‘ghostwrite’ and convey the voices of various executives.
- Desire to learn about the business.
- Hands-on experience with a Content Management System.
- You have experience in thinking ahead and driving solutions to problems demonstrating strong reasoning and process flow skills.
- You have a strong moral compass and are willing to advocate for a position that resonates with you.
- Ability to maintain composure and sense of humor in high-pressure situations.
- Proven experience in editing and writing for corporate audiences. Writing samples will be required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or similar field preferred.
- 7-10 years of work experience in a similar role required.
- Hybrid work environment working 4 days a week onsite in Stamford, CT with one day remote.
