Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge in analyzing financial documents and accounting is required.
  • Fully proficient in English, capacity to express ideas and attend call and meetings.
  • Shown understanding of Microsoft Office products and particularly Excel, such as pivot tables, lookups, etc.
  • Be organized, diligent, able to multitask and balance priorities, display initiative, and can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication (verbal & written).
  • Ability to quickly transition as priorities change to meet demands.

Education

  • Student of B.A. or B.S. required; specializations in Business Administration, Business Management, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance preferred. ideally one year ahead of graduation

Responsibilities

Financial Data Analyst (Interns) have a significant input to the ratings and research process by analyzing financial documents and data provided by Issuers.

  • The Intern uses accounting and finance knowledge and judgment to perform financial statement analysis, adjust reported data per relevant methodology requirements and review and analyze ratios.
  • Responsible for reviewing and understanding financial statements, official statements and other documents related to issuers’ performance.
  • Intern will have the opportunity to work on new projects such as data research, technology projects, accounting changes, analytic reviews, methodology updates and implementation of operational improvements.
  • The intern position provides an outstanding opportunity to develop skills that are valuable to any future career in the financial services industry.
