RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide paralegal support to Company attorneys involved in employment-related legal matters.
- Respond to legal inquiries and draft correspondence.
- Liaise with internal HR resources (payroll department, HR Operations team, benefits department, etc.) as necessary to assist in responding to subpoena requests, charges, etc.
- Assist in electronic discovery process by creating and distributing legal holds, tracking legal holds and custodians as they change positions or leave the Company, assessing when holds can be lifted, in consultation with attorney supervisors, and communicating with hold recipients regarding status.
- Assist employment attorney(s) with monitoring and reporting recent employment law trends to department and management. Provide regular updates on employment trends and changes in legislation.
- Track and regularly report out to employment law team on status of administrative charge docket.
- Coordinate with in-house Litigation team as needed on all employment-related litigation matters.
- With supervision of in-house employment attorney, conduct case-relevant investigations and prepare position statements and exhibits in response to administrative charges.
- On cases for which outside counsel is assigned, serve as initial contact with clients on administrative matters to gather documents and information necessary to prepare written responses to administrative charges. Summarize information gathered for inside and outside counsel, if any, and work with HR to follow up on any additional information needed. Assist outside counsel with scheduling interviews and depositions as necessary.
- Conduct necessary legal and/or business research and provide timely, clearly written and relevant information in response to legal inquiries.
- Assist with the implementation and integration of digital legal tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of legal inquiries and case research.
- Draft form documents and templates, make recommendations regarding standardized and best practices to facilitate processes, procedures and policies.
- Assist with implementation of new policies and/or procedures.
- Maintain all employment-related matter files.
- Provide reporting for insurance purposes.
- Create and manage Legal Tracker billing matters.
- Secure settlement checks and signed agreements.
- Perform notarizations.
- Route and maintain files on benefits-related plan amendments signed by Board and Plan Sponsor.
- Respond to subpoenas for employee data as the custodian of record for the Company.
- Respond to personnel and/or payroll records requests pursuant to state law.
- Other duties as assigned, such as assisting Senior Specialist, Compliance and Ethics on projects, managing workflows related to client requests; maintaining content on employment law share drive/SharePoint and generating and distributing materials as requested.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree in business administration, human resources, prelaw or similar field
- Paralegal certificate and/or degree, or commensurate experience preferred
- Combined law firm and in-house experience preferred
