This position will be based in our EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS) Space line of business, which will be part of a team delivering international space missions for satellites, launchers, and interplanetary vehicles. The company works with both national and international space agencies like NASA and European Space Agency as well as working across the commercial marketplace supporting missions that include Earth observation, internet of things (IoT) satellite constellations and global positioning and navigation systems. This is a role that can truly be said to impact people across the globe.

 

Job Purpose

The Cell Processing Technicians work within the Cell Engineering team to inspect, test and process. Li-ion cells to be used in the production of bespoke products for the space industry, and new cell types for use in both terrestrial and space applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation and physical storage of new cell batches
  • Electrical screening of new cell batches
  • Visual inspection of cells
  • Preparation of cells allocated to project build. This entails selection, wrapping, charging and laying out cells ready for manufacturing
  • Completing facility checks to a defined process
  • Destructive parts analysis on allocated cells
  • Support to vibration testing at cell level
  • Upkeep of Cell Processing areas
  • Completion of documentation

Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

Qualifications 

  • No specific requirement, but good level of literacy and numeracy required

 

Knowledge / Experience

  • Basic skills with MS Office / Office 365 suite of programmes
  • Practical engineering experience
  • Basic use of hand tools
  • Knowledge of electrical test equipment

Skills / Competencies

  • Attention to detail and a attitude and ability to examine and present data clearly
  • The ability to execute critical, repetitive tasks accurately every time
  • An ability to work in a multi-project environment; to effectively prioritise and work to detailed scheduled plans and tight deadlines
  • Good communication skills
