Position SummaryETL and SQL Design/Implementation - 35% of time includes the following activities:
- Implement, maintain, and enhance ETL solution fulfilling data quality, availability, data freshness and performance requirements, working with the business analysts to understand the business requirements to be fulfilled by the data, assessing requirements for completeness and accuracy.
- Develop methods for integrating different data sources so they work properly together, such as customizing standard source system/product databases to fit specific needs. Analyze and interpret all complex data on target system and analyze and provide resolutions to all data issues and coordinate with analysts to validate all requirements.
Business Intelligence and Data Analysis - 35% of time includes the following activities:
- Perform data analysis, produce data samples/prototypes, and produce adhoc reports. Obtain and analyze data by accessing multiple sources, including SAP and data warehouses to enable agile data analysis and data preparation for front end BI implementation
- Identify and implement opportunities to utilize advanced data analytics, such as statistical analysis, forecasting, regression, etc., to add value to business processes
- Develop a deep understanding of specific areas of the business and the key metrics that drive performance. Query data to analyze, monitor, and investigate trends
- Partner and collaborate with Business Analysts to provide input to project timelines, scope, and risks for Business Intelligence initiatives
- Evaluate and plan activities to implement automation of manual data extracts and other manual activities
- Utilize LEAN and Kaizen concepts to identify and implement data driven continuous improvement initiatives
Data Architecture, Governance and Quality - 20% of time includes the following activities:
- Create and maintain technical documentation including specifications, data flows, data mapping and data dictionaries. Keep documentation up to date on any data flow changes.
- Maintain and implement robust data governance methodologies for master and transactional data as well as data quality framework management for end to end data quality
- Perform tests and validate all data flows and prepare all ETL processes according to business requirements and incorporate all business requirements into all design specifications
- Support design & development of dimensional and normalized data models describing data elements and how they are used, following standard data modeling practices for a Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platform.
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database creating a data dictionary
Leadership - 10% of time includes the following activities:
- Demonstrate the ability to lead small cross functional project teams
- Provide guidance on best practices and approaches to design and implement effective analytics solutions
- Perform post project reviews with project team from BIS and IT, identify best practices and learning’s and implement in project execution process to improve future project execution
- Promote Light and Wonder values and leadership goals
- Act as mentor for others in the business
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree within a technical related field (i.e., Computer Science, Information Management Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics)
- Master’s degree in above fields preferred
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 7+ years as a BI Data Analyst/Data Systems Analyst
- Minimum of 5+ years for ETL/ELT skills (SAP BODS or Similar)
- Knowledge of BI project/program management (preferred)
- Experience with MDM , Data Governance and Data Quality(preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
- Expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis. Passion for delivering actionable insights.
- Experience in architecting, designing, developing BI and other analytical, reporting solutions using standard BI tools.
- Experience in creation of technical specifications and project documentation and translating functional requirements into detailed technical requirements.
- Has strong verbal & written communication skills.
- Experience in problem solving / conflict resolution, critical thinking and priority setting.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Project, Access and Visio.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL. Python and/or R preferred.
- ROLAP/MOLAP/OLTP architecture knowledge preferred.
- Experience in working with several groups of data and users simultaneously.
- Experience in being innovative and having strong analytic skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strong time management skills.
