Job Description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY RESULTS AREA

  • Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of commercial agreements and other legally binding documents. This also includes development of templates/standard documents or adapting Visa U.S. and CEMEA Hub documents to local requirements.

  • Provide counseling and advice to Business teams regarding deal structures, contracts interpretations and common approaches.

  • Monitor regulatory developments and advise teams in Visa CEMEA, primarily in CISSEE region, about applicable legal and regulatory requirements in the context of Visa deals.

  • Where required, coordinate and supervise outside counsels for timeliness, cost-effectiveness, and excellence of service and work product.

  • Proactively work with regional and functional colleagues on deployment of projects and initiatives.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Role to be located in Visa’s office in Belgrade, Serbia.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


Qualifications
• Law degree and qualification which allows for in house practice in the applicable jurisdiction
• Minimum 6 years PQE with reputable law firm or a multinational organization
• Excellent written and verbal English
• Transactional background with solid experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (in particular English law governed) with precision and attention to detail
• Experience in banking and finance, FinTech, information technology and payment industry advantageous
• Generalist (commercial) lawyer
