General Information:
The Operations Manager – Capacitors and Filters will ensure seamless manufacturing/assembly of capacitor banks (pole mount, shunt, metal enclosed) within our high-voltage components business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing/operations and a keen eye for optimizing processes to enhance the overall manufacturing/assembly process, with specific expertise in SAP systems. This position will report to the General Manager of – Capacitors & Filters business.
The position is based at our Mt. Pleasant plant.
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall work of the Production and Operations Department, overseeing daily work and reporting to the General Manager.
- Responsible for implementing, supporting, and sponsoring Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and all other business compliance standards and regulations across the Capacitors and Filters product line.
- Accountable to ensure a safe work environment, continuous improvement in HSE processes, and integrity performance.
- Responsible for executing a customer-focused Operations strategy for the Capacitors & Filter product line.
- Accountable for its relentless execution.
- May support sales during customer visits by explaining the capabilities of the manufacturing facilities.
- Owns and is accountable for delivering RELEX KPls in line with expectations.
- Responsible for on-time/on-margin project execution and to provide project EBIT and cash.
- Accountable for effectively deploying Quality strategy for the Capacitors & Filters product line.
- Responsible for developing and continuously improving business processes and procedures, as well as overall
- customer satisfaction.
- Accountable in defining and delivering the annual budgets for CapEx and OpEx expenses.
- Accountable to effectively balance installed capacity with customer demand and workload.
- Responsible for compliance with global and local standards, rules, policies, and procedures related to Operations/Project execution. In alignment with the respective Group, Divisional, BU, and Hub policies, responsible for introducing standards and guidelines, standardized processes, and KPls.
- Accountable for operational risk management, validates and improves reliability and effectiveness of business operations.
- Develops programs, projects, goals, and metrics for capacitors and filter operations, integrating lean manufacturing principles in production processes.
- Supports and guides new product introductions (through the R&D Gate Model and the Transfer of Product Phase Model) and ensures a smooth transition to Operations processes.

Your Background:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations/manufacturing, process engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in production line management or quality control; Possess the required awareness of quality, safety, and environment.
- Familiar with the principles and manufacturing knowledge of high-voltage switchgear products such as capacitors (pole mount capacitor banks, metal enclosed capacitor banks)
- Understand relevant local laws and regulations, be familiar with quality and safety management, on-site organization and control, and employee training.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems and handle work problems within the scope of the work.
- Possess the necessary knowledge of quality, safety, and environment for the position.
- Strategic vision for Functional Knowledge/Skill.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in using SAP order management systems and related software.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous process improvement.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
