The Role:
The Moody’s Finance Transformation, Data & Systems team is seeking a candidate to fill its Business analyst role to support the implementation of a cloud Data Factory. You will be joining a growing Business Systems & Solutions team and will tackle highly complex and interesting data challenges by building data models for our Business Intelligence, Analytics and Automation teams. This is a critical role where the Analyst will liaise with business users and IT teams in the gathering of requirements, design and execution of Finance data initiatives.
Functional Responsibilities
- Oversees long-term data roadmap acting as a domain owner and assessing data requirements for new products.
- Acts as the primary tester and presenter for data-driven products, ensuring they meet business requirements and user needs.
- Building a data-driven culture, fostering an environment where data is readily accessible and used to inform decision-making across all levels of the organization.
- Facilitates data sharing agreements to ensure seamless integration and compliance across systems and process owners.
- Manages and enriches the data catalog by documenting both business and technical data schemas, enhancing data discoverability and data quality criteria within the preferred data cataloguing solution.
- Establishes standards for data hierarchies and Master Data Management (MDM) within their domain, ensuring data consistency, quality and approval workflow.
- Work as a liaison between data owners across process silos.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in system operations and business analysis for IT related projects/implementation
- Technical experience with AWS Glue, AWS Data Brew, Athena query services, Snowflake and/or the data factory architecture
- Hands on experience with relational database architecture, SQL scripting and creating view reports
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical details into clear business context as well as fully grasping business goals in order to provide technical requirements to developers
- Financial domain knowledge with an interest in accounting processes and financial reporting and analysis
- Experience in SDLC and other project methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, etc.
- Well-developed data driven problem-solving and analytic capabilities, strong organizational, management, and communication skills
- Possess the ability to work with members of other teams across the organization and be sensitive to their needs and obligations
- Be able to pick up new software and systems quickly and self-train via all available training and internet resources
- Experience with PowerBI is a plus
