Objective of the Role:
The candidate will be extensively involved in all the Geo-Spatial data development related activities like property specific data development using satellite data, web resources and open data products. Maintain and deliver the geospatial data and its components on time with highest quality. Skills in programming, numerical/statistical analysis, computing, databases etc. would add value.
Key Accountabilities & Deliverables:
- Overall responsible to develop geotechnical data layers and their scientific interpretation as part of exposure data models.
- Performs complex data analysis using ArcGIS and related extensions/add-ons, relational databases, and other computer software; understands and can apply the capabilities of GIS, databases, and other computer programs to solve complex spatial and relational problems.
- Develop and maintain documentation on implementation activity.
- Responsible for process enhancement initiative to meet the model development needs.
- Accountable to develop method/technique to assess the quality of geotechnical datasets.
- Involve in applying geotechnical, geospatial, geostatistical, and other supportive domain knowledge in property specific attributes.
- Provide professional skills necessary for all phases of data development, data analysis, QA/QC, documentation, presentation, and data delivery.
Experience Required:
- Graduate in Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Earth Sciences or Graduate in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science from an institute of good repute.
- 2 to 4 years of total experience in developing and managing geospatial data and data components for catastrophe risk insurance industry and Probably 2 years of experience in SQL Server.
- Strong documentation skills with experience of working on MS Word, Excel (advanced knowledge such as using pivots, filters, using external data etc.), PowerPoint and Project
- Proactive approach - taking initiative to solve problems, build consensus, research alternatives, and implement solutions to benefit the team/projects.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to independently lead and drive projects.
Technical Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of ESRI GIS software products and hands on exposure to open-source platform such as QGIS, GRASS and SQL server etc.
- Familiarity with Google Earth Engine and Open Street map would be a plus.
- Proficiency in data analysis and data manipulation is required.
- Knowledge of analysis techniques like statistical methodology, numerical techniques, and data manipulation
- Programming skills in Python, VB.Net, C#, C++ etc. will be an added advantage.
- Quick leaner for new technologies, programming techniques, languages, and operating systems is must.
