Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience building and leading compliance/risk management programs.
- Experience working on a regional or global risk and compliance function or in an advisor, consultant, or auditor role at a publicly traded company.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience building teams and cultures across multiple countries.
- Experience presenting to board of directors, including risk committees of boards, and executive business meetings.
- Experience working on regulatory matters which involve risk mitigation under deadlines.

The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.
The Risk and Compliance team is responsible for ensuring that Alphabet complies with all laws and regulations applicable to its contingent workforce globally. The team does this by identifying and assessing risks, setting requirements and obligations, designing and assessing controls, and doing this all through appropriate governance to provide visibility and reporting to key stakeholders. The team also manages supplier risk by auditing and testing suppliers to expectations and policies, assessing escalations and risk events involving suppliers, and enforcing through consequence management the necessary remedial steps to protect Alphabet against legal, regulatory, and operational risk.
Responsibilities
- Support the centralized Risk and Compliance program for the Asia Pacific region.
- Align with local risk and compliance, audit, and other teams as necessary to understand local risks for escalation, reporting, and remediation.
- Monitor and integrate local regional risk trends and topics, benchmark competitor programs for and escalate through appropriate channels to keep Alphabet ahead of risks and threats in the region.
