Nestlé Development Center Marysville is one of the longest-standing R&D centers in Nestlé’s worldwide network. Here, we are the home of great coffee innovation - we provide technical development expertise for beverage products, working on well renowned brands Starbuck’s, Coffee-Mate, Nescafe and Blue Bottle. The Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Intern will review all safety, health & environmental tasks including risk assessment, machine safety and managing high hazard permits to gain real world experience in our R&D facility.
Primary Responsibilities:
- The safety, health and environmental (SHE) Intern is responsible for driving change in the SHE process improvements. including but not limited to:
- machine guarding, improving training delivery methods for better application and retention
- updating and improving safety, health and environmental procedures in the facility and continuing to foster a culture of safety first.
- Help develop and maintain internal audit process to maintain audit readiness under ISO 14001 / 45001.
- Interact and participate with cross functional teams, as required for special projects
- Maintain records retention for online and classroom training programs.
- Monitor work areas for compliance with safety rules, regulations, and policies
- Enter and trend safety, health and environmental data.
- Limited development and presentation of training material.
- Comply with Nestle Integrated Management System and all other company policies and procedures
- Attend training classes and cascade the training to others, such as: worker safety, accident prevention, and evacuation procedures.
Job Qualifications (Minimum Education, Experience, and Knowledge)
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- Must be currently seeking a degree in safety, health and environmental or related discipline
- Knowledge of OSHA, Ohio EPA regulations, basic understanding of ISO 14001 / 45001 standards helpful
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office suite); ability to learn vendor and Nestle designed computer software applications
- Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Must be organized with ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and be a self-starter
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
