About the role

The Lead is the initial point of contact for any job task or process clarification required within a defined area of the warehouse. Their work week being a balanced combination of the following responsibilities, conducting training, auditing procedures, ensuring effective work flow, handling discrepancies and performing the core functions within their area.

The Lead is a process expert within the department, providing critical input to ensure all daily goals are achieved.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effectively train staff to the work instructions and on-job-training requirements (OJT). Coach staff to support them in achieving the performance requirements for their role. *For areas where a Department Trainer is in place this would be supplementary role.
  • Process auditing of staff to ensure compliance with work procedures are being adhered to.
  • Identify and resolve department process exceptions.
  • Monitors workloads within their designated area, ensuring there’s effective flow to prevent bottlenecks occurring and priority workload from being impacted. Clearing problems and reporting failures to the appropriate person, as well as performing other necessary tasks to maintain workflow.
  • Expertly perform the core Associate tasks within the department, to support the achieving of the department’s safety, productivity, quality and service goals. Around half of a shift would be dedicated to performing these core tasks within the department.
  • Perform other relevant duties and tasks as required.

Essential Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Have knowledge and experience of all Operations areas and processes, to promote effective cross functional working across departments.
  • Self-motivated, with strong verbal communication skills and ability to build relationships
  • Proven commitment and flexibility, with a “can do attitude” and ability to learn quickly
  • Solid knowledge of which warehouse errors directly impact our customers and our quality performance measures, including RA’S, QC Audits, internal errors and corrective actions from the customer.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with the Knapp screens and relevant sections of SAP system.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good organization skills and written communication
  • Basic Computer skills

Education/Experience

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 1 year of related job experience
  • Requires use of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
