The Emergency Services Officer will perform a wide variety of duties required for the efficient operation of a comprehensive Emergency Services program to assure the highest standards of protection of personnel and property at Collins Aerospace Systems.
What You Will Do:
- Utilize a wide variety of plant protection equipment and procedures in controlling access and movement of employees and visitors and in reacting to unusual and hazardous situations.
- Perform related duties such as issuing badges, controlling site security with the passage and receipt of classified material, hardware, and documents.
- Control the operation of the parking areas and assist in escorting visitors and contracted employees as required.
- Responsible for a wide variety of fire inspection and monitoring duties, inspecting, and testing fire detection and control equipment, and related first aid materials, to assure the proper operation and adherence of applicable standards, statutes, and insurance requirements.
- Conduct fire drills to acquaint and explain to employee’s proper procedures and actions.
- Monitor and operate a centralized security and/or fire alarm system and associated network, including identification badge-key control system and/or computerized fire alarm, fire detection, suppression, and surveillance systems.
- Respond to fire alarms, take action to control and extinguish fires, giving appropriate alarm to assure safety of personnel with minimum disruption.
- May be required to operate fire apparatus on company property or in local communities in response to emergencies, and act as a member of crash crew in fighting fires and responding to other emergencies at the airport.
- Provide immediate assistance in emergencies such as fire, accident, or medical crisis, and giving first aid. Identify and alert proper violations or other unusual or suspicious activity and recommend changes in methods or equipment to eliminate potential hazards or operating difficulties.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of industrial methods and procedures, electronic intrusion and alarm surveillance systems, fire prevention control techniques and in first aid treatment.
- Maintain emergency vehicles.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
- Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard Ability to provide quality customer service
- 2nd Shift Position with a rotation that consists of: 1st Shift: 8:00am - 4:00pm (6 days on and 3 days off rotation.); 2nd Shift: 4:00pm to 12:00am (6 days on and 3 days off rotation.) ; 3rd Shift:12:00am - 8:00am (6 days on and 3 days off rotation.)
- Training may take place on 1st for up to 2 months: 8am to 4pm
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- Currently hold Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification
- Current State of CT fire Level 1
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
Qualifications We Prefer:
- State of CT fire level 2
- Confined space rescue certification
- HAZMAT technician Certification

The salary range for this role $29.12 - $39.42 per hour; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
