The Collins Aerospace Top Level Build and Test team in Coralville, Iowa is seeking a 1st shift Production Manager.  This position establishes objectives and guidelines for managing and monitoring cell performance and productivity. The individual will direct scheduling, sequencing of work and build performance as well as production innovation to optimize production. This role will be directly responsible for managing production and maintenance employees in the Top-Level build areas with a focus on test. They will handle all day-to-day direction of staff to accomplish daily production needs, ensure all Safety, quality, cost and inventory goals are met, as well as handle all personnel issues as they arise. 

This role will be performed onsite at our Collins location in Coralville, IA. 

This position may be eligible for relocation

What You Will Do:

  • Manage multiple cells in testing printed circuit board assemblies and top level modules including machine operation and the coordination of production plans, master production schedules, inventory levels and assembly schedules.
  • Manage team to ensure all quality, cost, schedule and safety related items are complete and documented.
  • Direct cost goals and process improvement reductions to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Communicate information and issues across three shifts including production operations and support
  • Set the sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, to optimize productivity.
  • Lead materials and logistics problem resolution to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
  • Direct production innovation, including additive manufacturing, to enhance production capabilities.
  • Liaise with customers to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of services.
  • Responsible for the overall leadership, education, training, and guidance of personnel.
  • Review, establish and prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, efficiency, materials supply and personnel resources.
  • Coordinate production activities with other functions such as materials, maintenance, marketing, new product development, customer service, manufacturing engineering, quality inspection.
  • Plan and administer procedures and budgets; makes budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
  • Develop schedules and personnel requirements for assigned areas; maintains a variety of reports, records and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods, and other manufacturing aspects.
  • Responsible for recruitment, performance reviews, and training needs.
  • Perform project related duties as required

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum, 5 years of relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience 
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
