Solipsys, a wholly owned subsidiary of Collins Aerospace/RTX, is an industry leader in the development of integrated C4I Network Centric Defense System solutions for both the Domestic and International DoD.
Solipsys is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer / Analyst to work onsite at our location in Fulton, MD. In this position, you will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert on challenging software development projects primarily focused on USMC programs. You will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies. This position is located in Fulton, MD and does require some travel to customer sites as needed each month.
What You Will Do
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise for the business in the area of complex mathematics, design analysis, simulation, system performance testing.
- Serve as corporate lead in the research and design of new concepts in areas such as the tracking and data fusion domain
- Perform system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design and trade studies.
- Serve as Technical Leader of engineering development teams.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Experience as a United States Marine in the C2/Surveillance/Tactical Datalink domains or experience with USMC systems such as the Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S).
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or other Engineering related discipline.
- Prior experience as a lead analyst/system engineer, developing the system models and simulations, developing complex algorithmic solutions, in a tool such as Matlab, to be implemented in the software product.
- Experience with any of these systems: Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control systems.
- Adept at communicating (verbal and written) with all levels within and outside the company, ability to prepare and deliver presentations/summaries which appropriately address the intended audience.
- Active security clearance is preferred.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
