As a Business and Data architect at Raytheon, you will provide architecture leadership on business transformation activities. You will collaborate with key stakeholders and leaders across organizations to accurately characterize and communicate business capabilities and value streams in the context of the desired strategic change and provide an architectural path to deliver long-term value.
This architect role is an experienced senior individual contributor that reports into the Data Architecture department of the Analytics and Automation directorate in Raytheon Digital, but also works across digital technology, functions, customer programs and other RTX businesses to build relationships, assess, understand, and map business value structure. You will partner with product managers and contribute to strategic planning, and process change decisions, and optimized execution.
You will use formal architecture and strategy methods and practices, such as TOGAF, to depict business strategy, problems, needs and structure before solution architecture and design occurs. You will also have responsibility for continuously developing out reference architectures, data architectures, personas, use cases, landscape models, repository and knowledgebase to accelerate future architecture engagements.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements for business dashboards and analytics.
- Design and implement robust data architectures that support the aggregation, analysis, and presentation of business data.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architectures, models, and processes.
- Ensure the scalability and security of data solutions in line with Raytheon's policies and industry best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance in the selection and implementation of analytics tools and platforms.
- Engage with cross-functional teams, including Digital Technology, business stakeholders, and functional data experts, to deliver integrated business intelligence solutions.
- Develop architecture artifacts primarily associated with phases A through D of the TOGAF Architecture Development Method.
- Identify opportunities to demonstrate incremental business architecture value quickly.
- Work with the Data and Analytics product managers to define business and data architectures.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires bachelor’s degree and minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or a master’s degree and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree minimum 14 years of prior relevant experience or associate degree and minimum 12 years of relevant experience is required.
- Experience architecting and planning large business transformation initiatives.
- Experience creating complex, integrated data architectures.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Deep knowledge of and experience applying concepts contained in the Business Architecture Guild Body of Knowledge (BIZBOK).
- TOGAF trained and experience using the TOGAF framework to build and communicate architecture to business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience with formal architecture modeling, including UML, BPMN, SysML, and ArchiMate.
- Executive presence, strong oral and written communication, and experience with leading change through large initiatives and organizations.
- Ability to dive deep and learn most aspects of how a business is structured to create value.
- Experience with full lifecycle of IT systems and changes, including planning, design, deployment, and operations.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration techniques.
- Prior experience as a business intelligence analyst, data scientist, software developer, or system administrator.
- Ability to use abstraction and simplification to comprehend and communicate complex systems and ideas to different audiences.
- Strong influencing and relationship skills to develop and maintain key partnerships.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
