Job Summary

The Material Program Manager (MPM) will be responsible for managing Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) activities in the Naval Power Mission Area. This MPM role will serve as the interface between Supply Chain and Integrated Product Teams (IPT) working on production, recertification and obsolescence contracts. Key responsibilities include the following: developing and implementing material strategies, material forecasting, ensuring cost and schedule requirements are met, creating metrics to monitor GSCM health, supplier assessments, and supporting future proposal activities.

What You Will Do:

  • Engage with IPT leadership on material strategy execution

  • Communicate and translate customer and product requirements to suppliers; including conducting supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity, and risk

  • Use critical thinking skills to propose sound and innovative business solutions to increase operational efficiencies to insure business area and program success

  • Successfully operate with minimal oversight, yet readily recognize and escalate when assistance is required

  • Easily adapt to strategic and tactical tasks

  • Able to influence team decisions and outcomes

  • Ability to work in and experience with a cross-functional team-oriented environment

  • Have the capability to manage multiple conflicting priorities

  • Process information from multiple sources to achieve a successful outcome

  • Oversight of metrics / leading indicators for Supply Chain to ensure success of the program

  • Develop and execute Risk & Opportunity (R&O) and create/manage sales plans

  • Ability to obtain MPM certification within 1 year of hire

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and Power point)

  • Experience managing budgets in support of the Estimate at Completion (EAC) process

  • EVMS certification

  • Experience leading or participating in cross-functional teams

  • Ability to lead managerial efforts, address issue, and resolve conflicts

  • High degree of financial acumen, the mechanics of strong supplier negotiations, and how to influence an acceptance in execution of cost reduction opportunities.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
