The Raytheon team is looking for a Release Train Engineer for an Agile Release Train (ART) comprised of a multi-disciplinary Systems, Software, and Integration and Test team. You will be working as part of a team to develop, implement, and release new candidate tactical software and simulation capabilities. The ART also provides support to THAAD Lockheed Martin, Operational Mission Profiles, and systems level analysis of radar data.
This role supports the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) department. The MDS department provides subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, requirements generation & flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense & Sensor Systems to be achieved through our people, processes, technology and performance.

Job Summary:
Join our highly visible team and perform technically challenging assignments, which will directly contribute to protecting our nation and our Warfighters. Currently, we are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to function as the Release Train Engineer for a Multi-Discipline Scaled Agile Release Train (ART) team. This role is a key contributor for the Systems Design Directorate located in Woburn, MA.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
As a Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will be working as part of the leadership team of a scaled agile engineering team alongside a Scaled Product Owner (SPO) and Cross Product Team (subCPT) lead. The RTE is a servant-based leader and coach for the ART.
Identify and escalate blockers to upper-level leadership, facilitate barrier removal for the ART.
Ensure that the agile teams are following established processes and agile methodologies.
Schedule and drive coordination of agile team scrum masters (Scrum of Scrums).
Ensure team product owners are establishing effective scope definitions, including clear acceptance criteria for team products and services.
Schedule and facilitate increment planning and review events in a scaled agile team environment.
Ensure team sprint plans and day-to-day execution are aligned with program and customer priorities in support of the Scaled Product Owner.
Partner closely with the Scaled Product Owner to ensure on time delivery of team products and services that meet agreed acceptance criteria.
Partner closely with the Cross Product Team leads on staffing decisions and rotations.
Identify and track internal and external dependencies required to deliver products and services.
Coach Agile team execution processes and mentor team agile leaders.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 6 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 13 years of relevant experience is required.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience in the field of Engineering, including any of the following: System Requirements definition and analysis, System Test and Analysis, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Software Development, Software Test and Analysis.

Hands on experience with Jira and Confluence
Prior experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner
Knowledge and execution with Agile principles and methodologies
Running or attending Agile ceremonies (daily scrum, monthly planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives)
Previous software development experience
Experience operating in or leading of a multi-disciplinary team
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, suppliers, management, and customers in a team environment

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
