The extrusion operator performs all the tasks associated with operating the bulk roll films extruder following the standard operating procedures. You will work a 12-hour night shift from 6:45 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. on a 3-1-3 schedule (night shift).
The role is being posted for the Engineered Films Plants, which means candidates must be open to working in either the Concord Building 18 or Painesville Building 3E facility, depending on business needs. Although the role is posted as a night shift from 6:45 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. as the regular shift, new hires must be available to train on day shift from 6:45 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. for at least the first 90 days.
Starting hiring rate: $24.16/hr plus $2/hr shift differential
Activities and duties may vary dependent upon site-specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
Operate and maintain all processing and material handling equipment within the film extrusion process.
Follow process procedures or instructions from line operators and team leaders.
Monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production specifications.
Set up machines requiring high level of precision and the interaction of multiple variables.
Load raw materials, determine and manage machine controls and unload finished product.
Perform routine tests and check product for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices, including calibrated measuring tapes.
Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Surface any malfunctions or abnormalities of equipment.
Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
Jobs may be of short, medium or long duration requiring frequent change in set up and variation in cycle. Adjusts set up and process operations accordingly.
Continuously review current processes and search out improvement methods to improve product/process quality and reduce waste or rework in the process.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
Possess or acquire within specified timing any licensures necessary to perform job.
Adaptive, flexible and able to handle ambiguity.
