Hitachi Energy Ireland has an exciting opportunity as a Sales Engineer you'll be working within a team to implement our strategies aimed at developing growth in the Irish market. Engaging with stakeholders to develop solutions through early engagement through to final capture of contract and support through the lifecycle of the project. Define accounts and implement long-term relationships with customers and partners including the broader Hitachi Group, local Utilities, Industries, EPC’s and developers.
Responsibilities:
Monitor new market requirements and seek proactive engagement with relevant stakeholders by building and managing relationship with them. Enhance the channels to market, and optimise solution to ensure a high probability of success.
Contribute to local Hitachi Energy Business Unit strategy. Work to develop solutions in line with the strategy through the identification and definition of business opportunities as well as future potential partnerships/collaborations with Hitachi and/or key stakeholders in the industry. Analyses customer needs for the portfolio, securing customer advantages and benefits as well as differentiating from competitors, identification of white spots for capture and new requirement analysis to define with the team solutions to penetrate the market.
Ensure the development of marketing & sales plans, attendance at appropriate industry seminars, development of success stories and news and delivery of same into the social channels.
Lead or contribute to creation of pipelines and progress the opportunities into a sustainable and profitable business with low commercial risk. Collaborate with all related Local BUs to ensure alignment, efficiency, and effectiveness in the implementation of marketing & sales strategy, proposal creation and customer negotiations.
Participate in internal work groups to share know-how, processes, and market information with local Hitachi Energy Business Units, HUBS, and Industry Network Leads
Background:
Bachelor or Masters’ degree in engineering (Electrical background is a plus)
Marketing & sales skills with hands-on experience and a track record.
Good understanding of Power Quality Solutions for both commercial and Utility segments
Ability to progress the projects as front-end sales & marketing from origination to execution
Strategic thinking and good communications and influencing skills
Experience in renewable and power utility market in Ireland, Transmission & Distribution experience is a plus
Product knowledge
Experience with LCIS and Grid Ancillary services is a plus
