Hitachi Energy is currently looking for a Global SE&OP (Sales, Engineering and Operations Planning) Manager for the Transformers Business to join their team. This team seeks a skilled and motivated individual.

Mission Statement:
In a market-leading company with global sales and an extensive global presence, the newly established Global SE&OP Manager role oversees the interfaces and interactions between Sales, Engineering, and Operations Planning process to meet customer delivery commitments. This position is vital for maintaining competitiveness and managing significant order growth, particularly with a product portfolio focused on Make -to- Stock, Make-to-Order and Engineer-to-Order products. The SE&OP Manager ensures the alignment of supply and demand, optimizes inventory levels, and enhances overall supply chain efficiency. Due to the importance of integrating Engineering for ETO business in overall sales and operations planning, this end to end process is internally referred to as SE&OP.
Job Description:
Define and establish global SE&OP as the critical function responsible for determining and optimizing manufacturing output levels in response to sales forecasts, ensuring that production plans effectively meet market demands while aligning with broader business goals.
Lead the Global SE&OP process, including internal & external material demand planning, supply planning (including production scheduling), and inventory management.
Define, develop, and operationalize uniform and harmonized global SE&OP standards, processes, and operating model & procedures in collaboration with related global functions and HUBs (regions), ensuring consistent application and high operational excellence across the BU.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between global sales, engineering, supply chain /procurement and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to planning and execution to meet strategic business objectives.
Develop and implement necessary governance tools and performance KPIs to monitor the success of the SE&OP process. Drive the rollout of SE&OP practices across manufacturing units to enhance productivity and improve customer and supplier on-time delivery (COTD/SOTD) metrics.
Identify, Implement and leverage digital platforms like SAP and other solutions to streamline and automate the SE&OP process, utilizing data analytics to enhance forecasting accuracy and drive informed decision-making.
Develop and drive innovative training initiatives and technologies in collaboration with global, regional, and local stakeholders, ensuring rapid and scalable execution capability to meet the requirements of the BU Transformer 2030 strategy.
Identify potential risks in the global supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
SE&OP Process Management:
Drive, develop, lead, and implement SE&OP Process Management, including Demand vs. Supply Planning for internal and external material and Inventory Management.
Establish and track key performance indicators for the SE&OP process
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the global S&OP process. Implement best practices and industry standards.
Best Practices and Technology:
Implement best practices and leverage technology to improve planning accuracy and responsiveness.
·Reporting:
Prepare and present SE&OP reports to senior management
Change Management:
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the SE&OP team
Basic Qualifications (Required skills/ experience)
Experience in a global manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to MTS, MTO, and ETO production models
Proven experience in managing global projects, with a solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
Strong understanding of Sales, Engineering, and Operations Planning processes, as well as working knowledge of relevant technologies (e.g., SAP).and understanding of different Business Archetypes, like Make-to-Stock (MTO), Configure-to-Order (CTO), Manufacture-to-Order (MTO) and Engineer-to-Order (ETO)
Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and operations.
Familiarity with change management principles and the ability to implement process improvements effectively.
A strong commitment to understanding customer needs and delivering solutions that enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
Willingness to travel as needed to support roll outs and trainings, meet with units and functions, and participate in meetings and events
Typical Education & Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred
10+ years of experience in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), or related roles.
Proven experience in managing and implementing global projects, with a solid understanding of project management methodologies, tools and business transformation.
Understanding of market dynamics and customer requirements in a global context.
Complex projects management
Experience with demand planning and forecasting and supply Management tools.
Experience with SAP S/4 Hana
Advanced S&OP certificate or similar and proven track record
