The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
We are seeking for an application development programmer analyst (Junior) for Commercial Card’s development team. The successful candidate will interact with development, testing, and production support teams, as well as other departments within Citigroup (such as the System Administrators, Database Administrators, Data Centre Operations, and Change Control groups) for TTS commercial cards VisionPlus platform.
He/she requires good communication skills across both technology and the business and will have a high degree of visibility. The candidate will be a rigorous technical lead with a strong understanding of how to build scalable, enterprise level global applications. This candidate would be responsible for the development, and maintenance of Commercial cards Customer Operations System.
The ideal candidate will be dependable and resourceful software professional who can comfortably work in a large development team in a globally distributed, dynamic work environment that fosters diversity, teamwork and collaboration. The ability to work in high pressured environment is essential.
Detail Role Specifications & Requirements
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience working on Credit Card projects.
- At least 2+ years of COBOL/DB2/VSAM/CICS/JCL development experience.
- Knowledge and working experience in Vision Plus Credit Management System (CMS) module
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Technical / Functional Proficiency:
- Vision PLUS application support and/or development experience with knowledge of COBOL, CICS and IBM mainframes platform.
- Experience in working with Credit Management System (CMS) is a must.
- Strong technical mainframe skills related to COBOL, JCL, CICS, MVS, DB2, ZOS Connect, ZIP, CKDS
- Hands on experience in handling Credit Management application changes including planning, code retrofits, unit testing, parallel runs, UAT and production implementation across APAC, EMEA and LATAM countries
- Knowledge of at least one or more of Vision PLUS systems like Issuing, Settlement, Association compliance, Embossing and IVR is required.
- Knowledge and experience of SDLC.
- Build and deliver technical development projects along with the team as per release schedule. Provide progress and overall project status, including risk management plans, issue resolution approach, and overall actions and decisions needed by the stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements
- Identify and analyze issues, make recommendations, and implement solutions
- Utilize knowledge of business processes, system processes, and industry standards to solve complex issues
- Analyze information and make evaluative judgements to recommend solutions and improvements
- Conduct testing and debugging, utilize script tools, and write basic code for design specifications
- Assess applicability of similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures
- Develop working knowledge of Citi’s information systems, procedures, standards, client server application development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applications
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
