Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist (Packaging and Components) will help lead and manage the procurement of Packaging material spend categories for Nestle Health Science US (NHSc USA). In this role, you will be responsible for developing solid working partnerships with in-market and Nestrade (global buying organization) stakeholders to optimize sourcing, supplier selection, pricing, contracting, and ongoing supplier management.
The Procurement Specialist will also serve as the key interface between Nestle Health Science USA and Nestrade contributing to the development of category strategies, identifying value creation opportunities and leading cross functional projects. The role will also be an important Nestle Health Science USA’s resources, managing local supplier relationships with a focus on risk management, innovation and sustainability. This is a remote-based opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a spend portfolio of up to 25 million USD, overseeing procurement activities across multiple suppliers and categories with varying levels of complexity.
• Manage assigned categories, including localization of global strategies, development of at-market strategies, and coordination with suppliers and Nestrade buyers (as required).
• Identifies and manages a continuous improvement pipeline to deliver year over year productivity while ensuring supply. Ensure saving tracking in partnership with Finance.
• Executes market research in various areas, contributing to Category Strategies.
• Keeps abreast of market conditions and maintains an agile mindset to meet changing business needs.
• Advises on optimal sourcing, supplier selection, pricing, contracting and commercialization while meeting quality and service level requirements.
• Aggressively contributes Nestle Health Science USA’s point of view to Nestrade stakeholders in order to realize the greatest overall value for the Nestle Health Science USA market.
• Monitors supplier performance and proposes improvement plans as required.
• Defines a proactive risk management strategy for critical items and ensures proactive problem solving of supply issues.
• Communicates issues clearly to the key stakeholders, escalating when necessary.
• Supports new product, new technology or new initiative launches as applicable.
• Leverage supplier partner in securing differenced Packaging and technology.
• Supports the corporate sustainability strategy by representing supply base capabilities and working with the Nestrade and Nestle Sustainability team to achieve Sustainability goals and integrate them into the strategic sourcing process.
• Support various transformation projects (such as Network optimization, complexity reduction) on an as needed basis.
• Ensures timely and accurate maintenance of Procurement data in ERP (i.e. quotas, contracts, source lists, etc.).
• Verify the financial assumptions in the monthly price forecast review process.
• Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by the Director or Procurement Category Management.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of professional work experience in Packaging Materials, Materials Planning, Supply Chain or in a relevant field required, preferably supporting Manufacturing, Commercial or Corporate functions.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) required.
• Experience utilizing SAP systems required; experience with Oracle, AS 400 and Power BI strongly desired.
• Must possess excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, presentation and stakeholder management skills (including the ability to develop and maintain strong, cross-functional stakeholder relationships).
• Willing and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Must have strong project management, time management, change management and critical thinking skills.
• Experience in developing and implementing new suppliers and business solutions, as well as knowledge of strategic sourcing processes and category management.
• Must possess strong analytical skills including data analytics and understanding business processes.
• Must possess some foundational finance knowledge such as P&L analysis, budgeting, cash flow, etc.
• Experience with contracts and contract negotiation a plus.
The approximate pay range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as geographic location.
