Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C or C++).
- 2 years of experience in ISP algorithm development or camera/android development.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 4 years of experience with camera ISP, sensors, ARM, or low-powered SoCs.
- Familiarity with C++ or a C-like language.
- Familiarity with or programming experience in an embedded environment.

We are building the camera system software layers which run below public Android camera APIs for Pixel phones, and offer full camera functionality for the Google Camera App and third-party camera apps. Camera system software builds up feature-sets and infrastructures that lay the foundation of delivering an industry leading mobile camera experience.
Our scopes include the following: Camera System Software that powers Pixel Camera features; Google ISP Software (i.e., ISP user space and kernel drivers); Google Camera Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL); Advanced Multi-Camera Software Frameworks Camera sensor software components that support both camera and non camera use cases; and Pixel Camera Platform Health (i.e., Stability, Power, Performance, Memory).

This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
- Utilize camera software stack to support Android camera Hardware Abstraction Layer.
- Design and develop camera hardware drivers and firmware, as well as validating them on emulation and silicon.
- Participate in camera software and driver bring up on silicon.
- Optimize pixel camera system software performance, power, and memory.
- Use machine learning and computer vision algorithm development and integration.
