Job Description

Payment Products Development (PPD) is central to Visa's payment network, managing core processing functions and technology infrastructure. The Program Management Office (PMO) within PPD oversees program/project initiation, execution, deployment, governance, training, financial management, and internal product delivery controls.

The Technical Program Manager for the Credential Management program will handle all aspects of Program Management, including demonstrating leadership, building relationships with partners, managing priorities and change requests, securing project funding, and ensuring compliance with governance processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing incoming requests for completeness.
  • Identifying and managing cross-functional dependencies and impacts.
  • Driving project estimation and delivery commitments.
  • Creating detailed project schedules and coordinating quarterly planning.
  • Managing delivery and change based on priorities and resources.
  • Identifying risks and creating mitigation plans.
  • Tracking progress and informing stakeholders of updates.
  • Resolving issues through collaboration and analysis.
  • Ensuring compliance with Visa's Project Management Methodology and reporting progress and financial status.
  • Providing direction and motivation to project teams.
  • Sharing knowledge and contributing to training materials.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, 5 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD), or at least 2 years of work experience with a PhD.
  • Experience: A technically proficient program/project manager with a minimum of 5 years' recent hands-on experience managing complex, cross-organizational, multi-stakeholder technical programs or activities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical and business issues and solutions across various organizational levels and audiences.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to address problems effectively.
  • Proven leadership capacity and organizational skills, with an ability to quickly adapt to changes like shifting priorities, assignments, and roles.
  • Strong orientation towards processes and in-depth understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and negotiation to meet project objectives and build trust with stakeholders.
  • Capable of comprehending product requirements and roadmaps.
  • Proficient in understanding high-level system architecture and workflows.
  • Ability to guide and manage multiple teams across different time zones through the software development lifecycle using Agile, Scrum, and Lean practices.
  • Ensure that projects are developed and deployed efficiently and successfully into production systems. Lead the team's Agile adoption and Agile release planning.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Jira, Wiki, Microsoft Office tools (such as Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint), Visio, and Clarity.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree, 8 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), or 5+ years of experience with a PhD.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as Business Information Technology or Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
  • Certifications (at least one preferred): PMP, CSM, SAFe Agile.
  • Experience managing dependencies between groups using different delivery methodologies, particularly Agile.
  • Experience in financial services and card payments is advantageous.
