This London based role reports to the Brand and Strategy Insights Director and will be a key member of the European Insights and Analytics team, a diverse, high performing team helping Visa and our clients to grow customer engagement through actionable insights, analytics and measurement.
This role will be pivotal in shaping thought leadership and driving strategic insights throughout Visa Europe. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to influence and inspire both internal and external audiences, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics. By providing forward-thinking perspectives and innovative solutions, they will ensure that Visa remains at the forefront of industry developments and continues to deliver exceptional value to its customers and clients. This person will also foster collaborative relationships, drawing upon knowledge from the EU Insights and Analytics team, Data Science team and Visa’s global insights network to provide comprehensive and impactful thought leadership.
Primary expectations of the role include generating exec level insights to inform business decisions, shape strategy, and support product development and marketing. This role involves proactively identifying market trends, leveraging data for strategic decisions, and effectively communicating insights across departments. The goal is to drive innovation and prioritise investments to align Visa's products and marketing with consumer needs, the needs of our business clients and market opportunities.
This role will also evolve reporting and insight quality of Visa’s Brand Health insights in Europe such that leaders are aware of key competitor brand dynamics, drivers and opportunities in their markets. The candidate will collaborate with European clusters to leverage insights for consumer, client, and B2B initiatives, analysing brand performance and identifying growth opportunities..
At this person’s disposal will be a broad roster of best-in-class insight vendors as well as skilled data scientists who work with Visa’s rich, transactional database.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct market and customer research to inform actions relating to Visa’s strategic priorities.
- Transform business inquiries and observed needs into research goals, advising on the optimal methodologies to achieve relevant insight signals.
- Be an insights champion informing not just actions within marketing but also functions such as product, sales, strategy and corporate communications.
- Manage research projects, including stakeholder buy in, hypotheses, design and insights socialisation.
- Synthesise insights to create compelling executive summaries which connect to action.
- Own brand tracking for the region, leveraging Visa’s global program and additional insights to be a translation layer to EU leaders on brand performance and drivers
- Supports the management and curation of a preferred list of research vendors and manage RFP’s as relevant for projects you work on.
- Constantly look for new innovative insights techniques and opportunity to trial in the business.
- Support and champion a culture of insight led business decision making within Visa
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Significant experience in similar client or agency side role. Consulting experience preferred.
Knowledge and ideally experience within financial services or payments industry
Strong commercial acumen, sales aptitude and pro-active relationship builder
Effective data-led storyteller with experience in generating insights that shape marketing strategy and planning. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Rigorous attention to detail and defensible insights
Highly developed research experience including strong understanding of qualitative (e.g. ethnography) and quantitative techniques (e.g. segmentation, concept testing, conjoint).
Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams, managing complexity and concurrent projects. An active team player.
Proficient in MS applications including Excel and Power Point
Relevant graduate degree preferred
