Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Business Process Analysis Manager 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The Business Process Analysis Manager 1 will join the Missile Defense Solutions (MDS) Team as part of the Business Unit’s Operational Efficiency Organization, working to optimize digital analytics, metrics and tools for a variety of functional and programmatic organizations across the BU.
In this position, you will directly supervise a team of data specialists responsible for both backend and frontend analytics and tool solutions development, while acting as the key liaison to multiple level of leadership across the business—helping to translate business needs into requirements for your team in order to support decision-making and optimization.
Responsibilities will include:
- Effectively recommends improvements and solutions for both data and tools—may lead independent efforts or deliver products in the context of another project.
- Identifies new opportunities for leveraging analytics and results and/or optimizes existing data analytics and corresponding strategy. This may include:
- Designs visualizations and systems for analytics and/or metrics.
- Transforms raw data into actionable information using dashboards, charts and visualizations to promote decisions.

Benchmarking best practices with analytics and/or tools and making recommendations within the BU.

Leads the daily work of a team of data analysts and data scientists (matrix and direct report; distributed locations) responsible for both the sustainment and development of a variety of analytics solutions.
- Supports a wider community of data analysts and subject matter experts within programs and functions inside the Business Unit by providing guidance, recommendations, and expertise.

Stays up-to-date on new, available tools and methods and acts as subject-matter-expert for applicability or implementation within the BU.
Essential Functions: -
Leads identification of optimized digital analytics strategies and tools based on stakeholders’ needs as identified across the Business Unit.
- Acts as liaison to decision makers by providing data-informed strategic directions and/or supports improvements to customers’ data visualization strategies.
- Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents and monitors daily work.
- Uses familiarity with development of metrics and tool implementation to drive business results.
- Troubleshoots data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications to existing solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree and 3 years of related experience, or a PhD and 1 year of related experience.
- Experience streamlining business processes using technology, tools and automated workflows
- Experience leading the implementation of new tools, visualizations and improvements to existing ways of working by leveraging digitalization
- Strong communication skills and sense of visual and end-user design techniques, and able to translate needs into requirements.
- Design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users.
- Intermediate knowledge in:
- Excel
- Tableau and/or Power BI for data analytics
- SharePoint
- Azure DevOps and/or Jira

May build add-on modules using application program language

Experience with building and coding applications and/or modules using languages such as C++, visual basic, ABAP, JAVA, XTML, etc.
- Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start
Preferred Qualifications:
- DoD background in Space, Aerospace or Defense
- Lean Expert Certification or Agile/Scrum Certification
- Proactive self-starter comfortable working across different areas of the business
- Working knowledge of Agile methodology (Scrum / Kanban) applications and Tools (Atlassian JIRA / Confluence)
- A working knowledge of Project Management principles and familiarity with concepts such as Integrated Management Systems
Salary Range: $102,400 - $153,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
