Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience working in a Auto White Balance technical environment, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience coding in C/C++, Java or Python.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).
  • 2 years of experience in Auto White Balance (AWB) tuning.
  • Experience in automation, numerical image analysis, tool development, and image metrics.
  • Understanding of white balance and color knowledge for consumer photography or mobile applications.

In this role, you will provide quality for auto white balance and color reproduction by efficient ways in Google Pixel camera and develop tools to analysis data to find out good balance according user feedback.

Responsibilities
  • Invent Auto White Balance (AWB) algorithm functions suitable with different camera sensors and modules, set up tuning strategies and required tests for validating image tuning and manage final image quality tuning of Android camera products.
  • Evaluate the AWB architectural design and algorithms for digital photography, computer vision or machine intelligence scenarios, and commercialize features to set tuning strategy for Google products and features.
  • Work with 3A/ISP development team and stakeholders to efficiently understand, cooperate and set AWB tuning strategies to new features.
  • Develop automation structure, simulator and tool to empower tuning efficiency.
