About the Team:
We are responsible for building a suite of SaaS and API products that are used by our clients in predicting and planning the feasibility of clinical trials; and monitor and predict the performance of clinical trials. Our products also allow clients to produce and compare clinical trials operational metrics in real-time with other similar trials in the industry. We achieve some of our capabilities through the development and deployment of predictive models. We are the phase of expanding our capabilities within our product suite and also into other Medidata products.
An engineer who is passionate about application development. Your primary responsibilities will include hands-on development of Medidata's software applications with Java, Clojure, Python, R, React/Typescript and Amazon Web Services. You'll be a lead on a team, building software for the management and prediction of clinical trial performance. You will help to prioritize, plan, and deliver what's needed for our products. You will be reporting to the Director, Engineering, and you will be based either at our New York.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, document, deploy and maintain applications in a production environment.
- Apply good technical practices such as continuous integration, test automation, and Github Pull Request reviews.
- Apply your experience with enterprise design patterns and principles, and distributed system architecture to implement product features.
- Work with Agile team members, collaborating with testers to ensure quality and with product managers to turn great ideas into detailed requirements.
- Work with the product and engineering teams to plan the product roadmap.
- Promote and ensure the high quality, performance, security of our solutions.
- Mentor and assist other engineers, promote growth and technical knowledge in the team.
- Promote and implement DevOps, CI/CD and automation strategies.
Qualifications:
- BS in computer science or related field
- 8+ years experience building software
- 8+ years experience with Java
- 1+ years experience leading a software team is preferred
- 2 or more years of experience with Node JS and React
- 2+ years of experience with Clojure. Experience with other functional languages is also valuable and preferred.
- 1+ years of experience building solutions with Python and R solutions.
- Experience with caching solutions and servers like Redis is a plus.
- SQL and NoSQL DBs
- AWS' Lambdas
- GitHub actions
As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on several factors including function, level, candidate experience, and geographic location.
- The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $135,000 to $180,000.
- The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $141,750 $189,000.
- The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $132,750 $177,000.
- The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Texas is $120,750 $161,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
