Job Description

The Government Affairs Manager is responsible for representing our company's interests in the public policy arena. This includes building relationships with external stakeholders (including government authorities, industrial & trade associations, policy advisors and NGOs), monitoring legislation changes and advocating for policies that benefit our organization, assisting Ops to protect our operations in Vietnam, assisting Commercials to enable business opportunities via government & associations channels, and assisting regional Sustainability to facilitate the sustainability initiatives.

TASK DETAIL

-Collaborate with MSEA Leadership and Legal Team to develop and execute a comprehensive government strategy and engagement plan
- Advise and proactively collaborate with the leadership team and the Legal team to prepare, adjust and to ensure AD remains the compliant operations with the law and regulation locally and globally
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government officials, industry related associations (Amcham, EuroCham...) and the stakeholders.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that impact our industry.
- Assisting Ops to protect our operations in Vietnam.
- Assisting the Commercials team enabling new business opportunities by engaging government and Trade associations.
- Assisting regional Sustainability leads to facilitate the sustainability initiatives in Vietnam.
- Monitor and analyze government policies, regulations, and legislation to identify issues that could potentially affect the company.
- Formulate and execute successful local government relations programs, particularly in provinces where the company has a significant presence.
- Take the initiative to identify and consolidate local subsidy and incentive opportunities, and provide necessary support to the local team throughout the application process. Tax relief and other incentives should be thoroughly studied based on local policies.
- Represent the company at government hearings, meetings, and industry events.
- Draft and submit position papers, comments, and testimony on relevant policy issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on government affairs initiatives.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in government affairs.


Qualifications

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU (Các yêu cầu tuyển dụng cần có):

- More than 10 years of significant experience with multinational companies in Vietnam including at least 3 years in government affairs/public affairs;
- Experience in government advocacy/lobbying, including developing policy positions, drafting submissions and letters;
- Past working experience in AmCham, EuroCham, and other trade associations will be preferred.
- Knowledge about the local Government hierarchy;
- Knowledge of international trade, manufacturing and/or economic issues;
- Strong business acumen. Previous experience of working for related industries is preferred;
- Proven capability to execute and deliver in a matrix organization, strong business ethics and integrity;
- Solid grasp of how political decisions influence Vietnam public policy, potential risk/implication evaluation;
- Fluency in English.
- Master degree or above would be a plus
