About the Role:
The Regional Technology Head for Asia Pacific will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all technology initiatives and operations across the APAC region, ensuring alignment with global IT strategy and local business needs. This role is responsible for driving technological innovation, maintaining robust infrastructure, and delivering high-quality IT services to support Invesco's business objectives in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the regional technology strategy in alignment with Invesco's global IT vision and business goals for the Asia Pacific region.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of technology professionals across various disciplines including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and data management.
- Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of all IT projects and initiatives within the APAC region, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with regional business leaders to understand their technology needs and provide effective solutions that drive business value.
- Ensure the stability, security, and performance of all IT systems and infrastructure across the APAC region, adhering to global standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in technology processes, tools, and services to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve user experience.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts for technology services and products within the region.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all technology-related audits, compliance, and regulatory matters in Asia Pacific.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies and best practices to protect Invesco's assets and data.
- Communicate effectively with global IT leadership, regional business stakeholders, and team members on technology performance, risks, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 15 years+ of progressive experience in information technology, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role managing regional IT operations within the financial services industry.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing technology strategies that support business growth and efficiency.
- Extensive experience managing large-scale IT infrastructure, application development, and cybersecurity in a complex, multi-national environment.
- Deep understanding of financial services regulations and compliance requirements in the Asia Pacific region, particularly Hong Kong.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams across diverse cultures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage IT budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and drive cost efficiencies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions.
- Proficiency in English, Cantonese/Mandarin is highly advantageous due to the regional nature of the role and location.
- Willingness to travel periodically across the Asia Pacific region.
