Responsible for operations of In-Clinic Pharmacy and overall success of business unit. Serves as pharmacist-in-charge and consultant pharmacist for all KSC Ambulatory Surgery Center pharmacies. Responsible for achievement of internal customer service provided by inclinic staff and department financial objectives; adherence to professional practices and Kelsey-Seybold and Kelsey Pharmacy policies and procedures; and management of all assigned personnel. Manages In-clinic personnel, provision of services, and inventory levels to meet needs of KSC clinic. Performs all duties of a registered pharmacist including accurate distribution of clinic use pharmaceuticals and consulting to KSC Ambulatory Surgery Center pharmacies. Subject matter expert regarding drug shortages and alternatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages In-Clinic Pharmacy personnel. Conducts training, performance appraisal, expectation setting (including customer service goals), counseling, and with the Director, Pharmacy Integration or Pharmacy Administrator of Retail Services and Human Resources approval, termination of Pharmacy personnel
- Performs professional duties and responsibilities associated with the distribution of medications to all clinics, to meet KSC objectives and maintains a pharmacy that delivers a high level of internal customer satisfaction. These tasks include overseeing inventory management solutions (Pyxis, Oracle, etc) in addition to technical duties such as Item Master management. Responsible for the proper ordering and stocking of inventory to maintain patient and clinic availability while achieving both monthly purchasing expenditures and inventory turns objectives. Works closely with Director, Pharmacy Purchasing to ensure GPO and drug purchasing contract compliance
- Efficient operation and management of In-Clinic Pharmacy to budget
- Adherence to federal & state Pharmacy laws, KSC policies, and Kelsey Pharmacy Policies in the In-Clinic Pharmacy area as well as KSC Ambulatory Surgery Center pharmacies while serving as the Pharmacist-in-charge and consulting pharmacist
- Promotes training and education. Assists/delegates in the training of all pharmacy personnel and assigned students. Provides quarterly in service to KSC Ambulatory Surgery Center personnel
- Serves as subject matter expert regarding drug shortages and alternatives to meet Kelsey In-Clinic patient need including but not limited to interpreting KSC refrigerator/freezer data logger reports
- Represents pharmacy services on committee meetings such as: EHS Committee, Code Blue at Main Campus, Flu Committee, and Immunization Committee

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of School of Pharmacy
- Current Texas Pharmacy license
- 3+ years of hospital or ambulatory clinic experience
- 2+ years of experience managing controlled substance and expertise with the regulations
- 1+ years of experience in pharmacy personnel management
- Committee leadership experience including running meetings with physician engagement
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement regulatory adherence audits which include controlled substances
- Communication - Demonstrated ability to communicate with key clinic stakeholders (including physicians, c-suite, nurses, and others) to address opportunities and issues which may arise during the course of work
- Delegation - Demonstrated ability to communicate with employees to delegate duties, inform about policies, train, assist with performance appraisals
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and to present suggestions and solutions in a clear and concise manner
- Driver's License and access to a reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience managing inventory and distribution, including setting par levels and managing inventory systems such as Pyxis, Omnicell, etc.
- 1+ years of experience with Ambulatory Surgery Center regulations up to and including service as a Consultant or PIC
- Experience with Pharmacy Accreditation, Quality Initiatives, and P&T Committee involvement
- Demonstrated ability to write reports (i.e., weekly/monthly, accident/injury, expense, security), maintain logs, complete daily InClinic Pharmacy personnel worklists, prepare paperwork for bank deposits, complete requisitions, and complete new hire paperwork
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
