About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Product Designer to shape the future of Contentful’s experience, thinking of the admin, developer and marketer, considering how our largest and most complex customers operate. In this role, you will lead end-to-end design and research initiatives that define how customers set up, integrate, and extend the platform. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners to create intuitive, scalable, and cohesive experiences that support sophisticated Enterprise workflows.
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, curious, and comfortable navigating ambiguity. You take initiative, explore problems deeply, and bring clarity to areas that lack definition. If you combine systems thinking with strong research, interaction, and visual design skills, you’ll have a meaningful impact on how customers adopt and scale with Contentful, get the most from it, ultimately influencing the success of the platform at Enterprise level.
What to expect?
You’ll be a key player in your cross-functional product development team and contribute to initiatives to make your product team and the design guild more successful.
- Conduct primary research including user interviews, usability testing and competitive analysis that deepens the team’s understanding of our customers.
- Represent customer needs through your work and via conversations with your team.
- Have strong system thinking skills that helps you untangle complex and challenging problems.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Collaborate via workshops and wireframes on shaping requirements to support business goals and customer needs.
- Leverage and contribute to Contentful’s open source design system, Forma 36, to ensure consistency across product surfaces.
- Participate in product designer critiques and share outs, to ensure your own growth and continuously raise our quality bar.
- Participate in daily agile, cross functional ceremonies so that you are pulling in the same direction as your engineering and product management partners.
- Execute high fidelity designs that bring requirements from conceptual to deliverable
- Create blue sky design prototypes that inform how we approach customer experience solutions, leveraging both traditional (Figma) and AI tools (v0, Lovable or similar)
What you need to be successful
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Self-starter and organized.
- Open to trade-offs and negotiation.
- Experience with user research and testing.
- Experience in meeting and workshop facilitation.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and capable of adding clarity to the table.
- Strong conceptual skills to design for complex scenarios.
- Strong communicator and user advocate.
- Comfortable communicating to company leadership.
- Experience with design systems and a solid understanding of interaction patterns.
- Knowledgeable and passionate about AI solutions and tooling.
