Job Purpose
The staff accountant will support the daily operations of the Accounting Department, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and assisting in month-end and year-end close. Ensures compliance with accounting principles, practices, and company policies while contributing to the overall accuracy and integrity of the financial reporting processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and post accurate journal entries in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
- Perform timely and thorough account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including variance analysis and reporting.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting procedures.
- Participate in annual physical inventory counts and assist with reconciliation of inventory records.
- Maintain and analyze standard costs, support cost accounting activities, and provide insights for cost variance analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Accounting Department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency with Accounting Software
- Experience with monthly financial closings.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and ERP.
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
Preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- SAP and BaaN system experience a plus.
- Cost Accounting experience preferred
1-3 years of experience preferred
