Role Overview
This is a C11 developing professional role within the USPB Controls Automation team in Mumbai. The successful candidate will be a key contributor, dealing with most problems independently and exercising latitude to solve complex issues. This role integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices, contributing significantly to the team's objectives. You will apply analytical thinking and leverage data analysis tools and methodologies to drive data-driven analysis and control-related business projects. The role demands attention to detail, professional judgment when interpreting data, and the ability to break down information systematically and communicably. The quality and timeliness of service provided will directly impact the effectiveness of both our team and other closely related teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a representative for the Controls Automation team on control-related business projects, focusing on the development and execution of data-driven analysis.
- Develop and automate control reports utilizing a range of tools including SAS, SQL, Enterprise Data Warehouse, BigData, EAP, and shell scripting.
- Develop, enhance, and validate methods for measuring and analyzing all risk types, including market, credit, and operational risks.
- Support the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of best-in-class Risk programs, policies, and practices for Risk Management.
- Identify potential risks and escalate them for further review and action.
- Handle preliminary investigations, assist with reconciliation procedures, and prepare routine correspondence.
- Create and maintain reports for control, tracking, and analysis purposes, ensuring appropriate and secure retention of documents.
- Collaborate with senior staff on investigating and responding to customer and operational complaints.
- Interact and work effectively with other areas within Risk Management as needed.
- Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of overall experience in data analysis, reporting, and automation.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with Database Management Systems (DBMS) tools.
Technical Proficiency (Must-Have):
- Strong and advanced proficiency in SAS: Demonstrated expertise in SAS programming for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and report generation.
- Strong and advanced proficiency in SQL: Expert-level SQL skills for complex querying, data extraction, and database management across various platforms.
Technical Proficiency (Add-on/Desired):
- Proficiency in UNIX shell scripting for automation and job scheduling.
- Experience with job scheduling tools such as Autosys or Control-M.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Data Warehouses, BigData, and EAP platforms.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative, technical, or related field.
Soft Skills:
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, crucial for exchanging complex/sensitive information.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
