DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports income tax reconciliations and returns. Supports direct tax audits and projects by gathering data, conducting tax research and addressing questions.
  • Executes projects related to the application of tax law.
  • Collects, analyzes and summarizes tax information which would be used for purposes of preparing income tax returns, US tax reporting compliance and related tax projects.
  • Preparation of reports supporting positions taken on income tax returns as well as US income tax provisions and related tax projects.
  • Other day-to-day tax-related matters and reporting related assignments or ad-hoc projects delegated by manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Competencies:

  • Financial Regulations Acumen - Evaluates applicable regulations for the financial area of focus, such as tax, accounting to ensure underlying transactions are recorded in compliance with applicable regulations; explains key requirements and purpose of regulations and implications to the business to inform and educate relevant stakeholders.
  • Tax Based Modeling and Computation - Performs income tax provision computations, tax return calculations and tax modeling considering the relevant business facts and assumptions.
  • Tax Technical Analysis - Leverages various tax-technical resources by researching applicable regulations, tax code, and case law to ensure taxes recorded in compliance with regulation.
  • Action oriented - Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting/Tax/Laws required. Certified Tax Agent, Chartered Accountant or similar certification is preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 3-4 year tax experience required. Tax working experience in Big 4 is preferred.
  • Good interpersonal communication in English.
