Reporting to the GM, Scandinavia
 

Position Overview:

Due to an internal talent move, AbbVie is recruiting a Business Unit Director for our very exciting and dynamic Specialty portfolio (Neuroscience, Eye care & Established), as part of the senior management team the BUD will coordinate and manage the Specialty Business Unit in Scandinavia. Lead the strategic planning process, provide resources to support the implementation and execution process. Drive financial processes across all brands, placing the patient into the centre of all efforts. Operate within the AbbVie Business Code of Conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
 

Highlighted Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the strategic planning of the entire Specialty portfolio, including the Long-Range Plan and multiple one-year brand plans
  • Review and approve plans, including the allocation and assignment of resources, in order to support implementation prior to the Affiliate Management Team and Area team Plan reviews
  • Liaise and partner with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure cross-functional alignment and customer focus
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the commercial operations strategy and optimally manage commercial operations and executions, including responsibility for the allocated Profit and Loss statement
  • Coordinate, consolidate and lead financial processes for Specialty, including monthly participation in the ADS and S&OP cycles
  • Review, revisit and validate business model inputs before incorporating them into the financial reviews of the Plan book and other periodicals in the affiliate
  • Develop coaching activities, evaluate the performance of all business unit and brand team leaders against key performance indicators, and provide ongoing feedback
  • Identify opportunities for each brand, as well as, areas where the leaders responsible for these brands could make improvements
  • Understand the other brand networks and functions, establish good cross-functional cooperation and foster fruitful interactions
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the affiliate as a member of the Scandinavian Management Team, by actively participating in the planning and management of affiliate activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Relevant business unit experience with proven track record of success in managing a P&L.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing business visions, translated into strategies, while balancing realistic short-term requirements and long-range business plans.
  • Excellent working knowledge in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry/area.
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of sales and marketing aspects, financial processes, brand and market dynamics.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership, management and coaching of teams and individuals, and in having developed talent and performance managed low performers.
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing
  • Preferred:
    • Proven track record of having achieved extraordinary business results.
    • Proven track record of having successfully managed significant change.
