The Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) Lead is responsible for driving the strategic vision and execution of maintenance excellence at our Ballytivnan site in Sligo. The successful candidate will lead a team dedicated to improving reliability and asset management ensuring operational efficiency.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead and support the site Maintenance Excellence Program by delivering all criteria set in the MEP Minimum Requirements Standard.
- Conduct and compile RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance), RCA (Root Cause Analysis), FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Periodically review and optimise Preventive Maintenance programs for effectiveness.
- Monitor plant equipment operations and lead efforts to prevent/reduce equipment failures.
- Analyze completed maintenance work orders and failure history, developing long-term solutions.
- Manage Predictive Maintenance and Mechanical Integrity Programs.
- Review installation and maintenance plans for new equipment, provide reliability specifications, and develop support plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to mitigate equipment and utility risks.
- Engage with Global Engineering teams and participate in Reliability Engineering and Maintenance forums.
- Track, analyse, and improve key maintenance KPIs (asset utilization, cost, schedule adherence, compliance).
- Train employees on reliability processes and promote preventive maintenance and continuous learning.
- Perform internal audits and support external audits.
- Utilize the Computerised Maintenance Management System (Maximo) and manage Engineering Change Control.
- Lead and mentor a team of direct reports; oversee contractors; interact cross-functionally.
- Comply with EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) policy and procedures.
- Level 8 Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 7 years’ relevant experience with 3 years’ experience in a cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) environment.
- Proficiency in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (Maximo or equivalent).
- Leadership skills and experience managing teams and budgets.
- Project management qualification would be an advantage.
- Experience with Lean methodologies and Operational Excellence.
- Proven problem-solving and innovative thinking skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
