Support the management of the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) system by ensuring adherence to the standards and requirements established by the company. This includes actively contributing to the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of EHS policies, fostering a culture of compliance, and promoting best practices across all organizational levels.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (List up to 10 main responsibilities for the job. Include information about the accountability and scope): • Implement, maintain, and improve EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) programs based on corporate standards and national requirements. Also, ensure compliance through the adoption of necessary strategies, internal controls, communication, and training. • Conduct walkthroughs in the different areas of the plant for the timely and preventive detection of occupational and environmental risks and ensure compliance with the EHS programs under your responsibility. • Manage the environmental programs in the plant, as well as the support team (Green Team). • Coordinate self-assessments or internal audits of the EHS system under your responsibility, as well as environmental regulatory inspections. • Manage the implementation of recommendations in different areas to reduce or eliminate the top 5 risks identified in the Risk Mapping. • Support the site’s emergency response plan and ensure the formation and training of the Emergency Response Brigade. • Follow up on accident investigations and generate corrective actions as a result. • Assign and follow up on corrective actions (CAPAs) for EHS identified in audits, Gembas, inspections, or government visits through the ALLEHS system. • Ensure legal compliance in environmental matters for site’s waste management (vendor permits, destruction certificates). • Guarantee compliance with corporate and legal EHS requirements by adhering to policy and internal procedures. • Continuously improve EHS results through leadership, commitment, and participation in all EHS-related initiatives. • Verify, identify, and perform risk assessments across the facility, new equipment, and/or infrastructure changes; develop controls and ensure their implementation. • Support EHS initiatives during key events such as EHS weeks, Environment Month, among others. • Develop and implement ideas assigned. • Provide training and technical guidance for high-risk tasks (Heights / Confined Spaces / Cutting and Welding / Forklifts and Hydraulic Platforms, confined spaces, control of hazardous energies, among others). • Report and update graphics on department indicators for the various disciplines assigned to the role. • Ensure the updating of different plans established by National Legislation on Safety, Health, and Environment topics. • Provide support in the management of changes in the facility/product/process and planning. • Update the EHS information boards. • All other functions inherent to the position and those assigned by immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION (Include academic level and language proficiency required for this job)
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and environmental hygiene engineering, Occupational Health, or a related field. •
English proficiency 75%-80%
SKILLS (include other type of knowledge and skills needed to perform this job)
• Quality/Regulated Management Systems (GMP, QSR, FDA, CAPA, ISO) • ISO Management Systems: ISO 14001 – ISO 45001 – ISO 50001. • Office, Visio, Project, One Vault, Compliance Wire, SAP • Operational Excellence and Process Improvement. • Management of regulatory entities.
EXPERIENCE • At least 5 years of experience in Occupational Health and Environment. • Desirable experience in the Medical Industry environment and/or electromechanical and electronic devices manufacturing.
