Education 

  • Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree) in a related discipline (e.g, economics, finance, law, business, sustainability), graduate/second-level degree preferred

 

Responsibilities

The Associate will play an important role in consolidating the position of Moody’s Sustainable Finance team as the preeminent source of expertise on ESG credit risks and sustainable finance in global credit markets. The role-holder will support the Sustainable Finance team’s thought leadership program, contributing to the publication of thematic research and delivery of outreach activities. 

  • Support delivery of thought leadership campaigns articulating Moody’s views on the implications of policy, market and technology trends on credit and sustainable debt markets
  • Contribute to the production of high-profile thematic research. Collect, analyze and present relevant data, including insights derived from Moody’s proprietary ESG scores, second party opinions and net zero assessments.
  • Oversee the research production process, including collaboration with support teams to develop compelling visuals and social media strategies
  • Produce outlines and first drafts of thematic reports where appropriate
  • Maintain internal databases to support analytical projects and cross-team collaboration
  • Oversee tracking and reporting of research activities and impact metrics. Benchmark against team objectives
  • Provide logistical and analytical support for team’s outreach activities, including webinars and conferences. Draft presentations and provide talking points where appropriate
  • For flagship events such as London Climate Action Week briefing, work with analytical and support teams to deliver on content, audience engagement, and media strategy
  • Oversee tracking and reporting of outreach and engagement activities, including partnerships with external organizations. Benchmark against team objectives
  • Attend Moody’s and third-party events and report back on key takeaways 
  • Develop familiarity with the ESG cross-sector methodology, Second Party Opinion and Net Zero assessment frameworks
  • Develop a working knowledge of Moody’s methodologies and credit rating best practices
  • Monitor ESG and sustainable finance trends by following market developments, relevant news events, and relevant research produced by other analytical teams at Moody’s 
  • Monitor third party research and events to build knowledge and awareness of market focus
